The tykes program is designed to introduce youngsters to the fundamentals of soccer. If you have a child aged four to six years old, this could be the spot for them. The program is designed for fun, fitness, sportsmanship and the teaching of basic soccer skills, with the emphasis on non-competitive practice and play.
The sessions take place for one hour every Saturday on the fields at Mt. Pleasant School (St. George at 8th Ave.). Players are divided into groups based on age and/or skill level. The program starts in the middle of September and runs until the following March. There is usually a three to four week break in December (over the Christmas holidays).
Players must provide their own shin guards, soccer socks and soccer cleats. They may wear pants or shorts. KLM will supply a jersey for each registrant. Once registered, you will be contacted in late August or early September to be advised of the start date of the program. Please see the “How to Register” section on how to register your child and the costs of this program.
NOTE" parents MUST step up to coach and manage the team in order for a team to be registered and be able to play on the season start date. Please contact the Club Positions. Fields and times may be adjusted due to enrollment levels, field conditions or other factors.
