Boys

KLM divisional boy’s teams play under the umbrella of the Vancouver Youth Soccer Association (VYSA). Vancouver is partnered with Richmond, Burnaby and the North Shore for 4 District Divisional League play. Competition is open to all boys from U11 to U18. The U11 to U12 teams play 8-aside soccer. See the U1

U13-U18 boys teams play within their age group at the Gold, Silver or Bronze levels. Games at all levels are against other 4 District Teams. Travel to other 4 District Clubs is required. KLM divisional U12 to U18 home games are played at a number of "home" fields which change from year to year but are typically located at: Memorial Field, the Hillcrest fields, Tillicum fields or Van Tech Field.

U13 to U18 Players may be “streamed” or they can continue to play at a recreational level (Bronze) or try out for competitive (Silver & Gold) level teams. A high level of commitment is required and expected for Silver and Gold teams. Silver and Gold teams usually practice twice a week while Bronze teams usually practice once a week.

Tryouts for positions on Silver & Gold teams are held April-June. Old and new players to KLM should register as soon as possible to secure a place on a team or at least be informed of tryouts to set teams. Players who register after the tryout period will be accommodated on teams as space permits.

Girls

A major goal for KLM is to build a strong girls program. We are committed to building up the girl’s side from the mini program up to the divisional program. We will commit resources as necessary to make our girls side a success.

KLM divisional girl’s teams also play under the umbrella of the Vancouver Youth Soccer Association (VYSA). Vancouver and Richmond, Buraby, the North Shore, Surrey and the Fraser Valley for 5 Distrct Divisional League play. Competition is open to all girls from U11 to U18.

U11 and U12 girls play 8 aside on a smaller pitch. KLM teams play within the Vancouver Richmond District. Players should receive equal playing time and be given the opportunity to play at different positions. Travel to other Vancouver and Richmond clubs home fields is required. KLM U11 and U12 home games are usually played at Ross Park or Riley Park.

U13-U18 girl’s teams play within their age group at the Gold, Silver or Bronze levels. Games at all levels are with other 5 District Teams. Travel to other 5 District Clubs is required. KLM divisional U13 to U18 home games are played at two Kensington playing fields located at 33rd and Knight Street in Vancouver.

Divisional games for boys and girls are scheduled from mid-September through to early March (with a 3-4 week Christmas break). Boy’s games are played on Saturday (U17 & U18 boys may play on Friday and Sunday) while girls games are played on Sundays. Some teams play tournament games on holiday weekends (e.g. Thanksgiving) and teams successful in League or Provincial Cup Tournaments continue to play after March until they are disqualified.
